It's time to get in the giving spirit with the new Teen Service Club project: holiday greeting cards for Henderson senior centers. Kits for this project will be available beginning November 2 via curbside pickup at each Henderson Libraries location.  Youth ages 11-17 can use their artistic skills to create holiday greeting cards that will go to a senior citizen when they receive Meals on Wheels or another delivery from the Downtown Senior Center and the Heritage Park Senior Center. Get creative, and  color, coll age, decoupage, paint, or use anything else to make this holiday a little more special for the person who will receive your card. Please do not sign cards with personal names.  Please take your time on this project to make it extra special. Each kit includes materials to make 2 cards, along with some decorative items to get you started. You will receive 30 minutes of service time for each card.  Turn in completed cards by November 30, 2020. This month's Service Project is Thanksgiving placemats for Meals on Wheels recipients. Kits for this project will be available for pickup beginning October 1 via the curbside service at each Henderson Libraries location.  Youth ages 11-17 will use their artistic skills to create a Thanksgiving placemat that will go to a senior citizen when they receive their Thanksgiving dinner from Meals on Wheels. We're excited to announce that the Teen Service Club is back for youth ages 11-17! Beginning September 1st, kids and teens interested in earning volunteer service hours can stop by any Henderson Libraries location to pick up a kit.   September's Service Project is making "thank you" notes for healthcare workers in Southern Nevada. These notes will be dropped off at Henderson Hospital and other Valley Health System locations. All levels of employees at these institutions have been working hard to keep our families and neighbors healthy during this unprecedented health crisis, and this is a small way to demonstrate our gratitude.  Use your artistic skills to create a meaningful and decorative "thank you" note.
