Teen Service Club is back!
We're excited to announce that the Teen Service Club is back for youth ages 11-17! Beginning September 1st, kids and teens interested in earning volunteer service hours can stop by any Henderson Libraries location to pick up a kit.
September's Service Project is making "thank you" notes for
healthcare workers in Southern Nevada. These notes will be dropped off at
Henderson Hospital and other Valley Health System locations. All levels of
employees at these institutions have been working hard to keep our families and
neighbors healthy during this unprecedented health crisis, and this is a small
way to demonstrate our gratitude.
Use your artistic skills to create a
meaningful and decorative "thank you" note. Please take your time to make this
project extra special. You can color, collage, decoupage, paint, and write a
message of thanks and positive support for the person who will receive your note
card. (*Important: please do not sign cards with personal names.) Each kit
includes materials to make 4 note cards with some decorative items to help get
you started. Kids and teens will earn 15 minutes of service time for each note
card completed. Turn in completed note cards by September 30th, 2020.
Special Instructions for 2020: Kits will be distributed via the Henderson
Libraries curbside pickup service -- 1 kit per teen. Completed projects should be
returned via curbside pickup, with completed note cards in the bag with a return slip filled out and attached (the slips are included
in the kits). Another kit may be taken upon return of the previous kit. All
completed projects will be held until September 30th, and service time will
be calculated based upon the return slips for each participant. A letter
detailing the service hours will be sent via email to the participant after
September 30th.
Please call Henderson Libraries with any questions regarding
the project details.
