"No-Pressure" Senior Book Club Join our "No-Pressure" Senior Book Club virtual meetings on Zoom! This book club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 1:00 p.m. Questions?  Contact Cristi Burroughs at  cburroughs@hendersonlibraries.com . Surprise Craft! Halloween Yarn Garland

Attention Crafty Adults! Made for crafters of all levels,   each kit contains a step-by-step guide and  various supplies needed  for  the crafts’ creation.  Hopefully you’ll have some of the  basic craft supplies  not included in this kits,  such as scissors, a hole punch, glue stick, and a hot glue gun. Book Bundles & More!

Do you need help finding books for your kids? We have a couple options for you! Our book bundles featuring 3-5 books selected by our staff based on age or reading level (picture books, chapter books, young adult, etc). When you stop by curbside pickup to grab your holds, just ask for a book bundle. We have them for adults, too, in a variety of genres like suspense, romance, and sci-fi. Think of it as a blind date with a book! Want something more specific? Fill out a request form for picture books, chapter books, and non-fiction books for kids, and our Youth Services team will handpick up to 10 books and place them on hold for you. Hello and welcome to October!    This month we will be looking at books specifically about beer!   Please remember to drink responsibly.   If you are a beer connoisseur, you are probably already aware of Oktoberfest and National American Beer Day. If not, those are just the two of many celebrated events around the world. Oktoberfest was originally a horse race to honor Prince Regent Ludwig of Bavaria, the later King Ludwig I, and Princess Therese of Saxony- Hildburghausen  in October of 1810 for their upcoming nuptials. This event was created by Andreas Michael  Dall’Armi , Member of the Bavarian National Guard, who would later in 1824 be awarded the first citizens gold medal for inventing ‘Oktoberfest’. Internationally Oktoberfest is celebrated from September until the first Sunday of October for a total of 16 days.    The National American Beer Day is observed October 27 th  and celebrates all American Beers produced by more than 3,000 breweries in America.
