Hygge Kit

It's Hygge Season!

Now more than ever, we need respite from all the stress we are collectively feeling. The Scandinavian philosophy of Hygge can help. What is Hygge? It is a Danish word (pronounced "HOO-gah") that describes a feeling of coziness, contentment, and connection. It is enjoying simple pleasures, devoid of modern technology. Meik Wiking, author of "
The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living" writes, "Hygge is about an atmosphere and an experience, rather than about things. It is about being with the people we love. A feeling of home. You may be having an endless conversation...or just be comfortable in each other's silent company… or simply just be by yourself enjoying a cup of tea."

We've created Hygge Kit that includes: Hygge pamphlet, fuzzy socks, tea candle, and a packet of cocoa to fill your senses! Starting Wednesday, December 9, they'll be available via curbside pickup at the Gibson Library and Green Valley Library while supplies last. Limit one per family.
