Craft Kit: Hygge

Now more than ever, we need respite from all the stress we are collectively feeling. The Scandinavian philosophy of Hygge can help. What is Hygge? It is a Danish word (pronounced "HOO-gah") that describes a feeling of coziness, contentment, and connection. It is enjoying simple pleasures, devoid of modern technology. Meik Wiking, author of "The Little Book of Hygge: Danish Secrets to Happy Living" writes, "Hygge is about an atmosphere and an experience, rather than about things. It is about being with the people we love. A feeling of home. You may be having an endless conversation...or just be comfortable in each other's silent company… or simply just be by yourself enjoying a cup of tea."
